A good hilly tour, crossing one of the most beautiful town in Italy: Urbino. In this itinerary there are three climbs and two quite demanding descents: it is a rather difficult route. Starting from Riccione you go to Morciano: here tehere is a climb towards Montefiore. You will see it from far because of the view of its fortress “Rocca Malatestiana”. After crossing Tavoleto and Cà Gallo you go up towards Urbino and now we suggest you a nice stop. It is a wonderful boundary town, intact in its Renaissance features. Roads, houses, squares, churches until arrive at the beautiful “Palazzo Ducale” (15th century). If you look it from different points of view you will admire its magnificence, elegance, power. And what about the landscape from the top, from the “Albornoz” fortress? You have to go up by bicycle and watching in any direction. It is an experience that you will not forget. At the return there is a descent to Montecchio, a climb to the hillock of Tavullia and then another descent to S. Giovanni in Marignano. In the last kilometres towards Cattolica and then to Riccione you can breathe again, at the end of this calm itinerary. As you see in the map, the first climb is at 10 kilometres from the starting point and the last one at 20 kilometres of distance from the arrival. And you need to be calm to enjoy all the environmental and artistic beauties of this route. |
