The itinerary runs on level round for all its length, along the Marecchia river, crossing side streets and sometimes tight tracks until arrive to Ponte Verucchio. In the back tour you cross the opposite bank, crossing an unsurfaced road. It is an easy way, very picturesque, suitable for all, the ideal for spending a beautiful morning or the whole day. The departure is from the Ponte of Tiberius in Rimini, to run through all the Marecchia Park. At the football ground you turn left on the embankment and after 300 metres a little path will leave us on the cemented bank of the river. Now you have to cross the little wooden bridge to reach the track on the other side until to get into the viable path along the left bank of the river. From now on is easy to cover the fifteen kilometres until the dyke of Ponte Verucchio. Here the path finishes, you leave the bank and enter the opposite side path. Now the road is less comfortable, it runs among the cultivations. It carries us to the Park of Villa Verucchio. It lets us cross the cane thicket until arrive after a few metres to the purification plant, that throw a strong “stream of water” in the river. By a rudimentary bridge throwed by the bikers you can cross the river. Pay attention to don’t challenge the stream! We can just go to the Marecchia Park and now resting a bit under the big trees with the Bridge of Tiberius in front of us. |
