In this itinerary, what we present can be considered the “big leg” for its mountain features, with hard climbs. It is a long route along which you cross places rich in history, splendid views, still on well done and asphalt roads. You start from Bellaria bound to Savignano and Ponte Verucchio where you get into “Marecchiese” to climb it up till Pietracuta. Until this point, this is to be considered a flat route. But
From now on here are the climbs as well as the several restaurants in appealing sites. We also suggest a stop in old –fashioned villages. The views of S. Leo catches our eyes and climbing up we find Carpegna, among luxuriant landscapes, here soft, then abrupt, to come then down to Pennabilli, another gorgeous village. It’s time now to go down to Novafeltria and Ponte Verucchio, where we turn for Santarcangelo.
We cycle then to Torre Pedrera, towards the sea and from here we turn back to Bellaria. The “big leg” is worthy a stop, after the climbings, in order to have some food, enjoy the natural beauties as well as the historical-artistical ones- Keep attention anyway to the downhill roads. These are “our mountains” close to our Riviera, in places inhabited since ages, the nature of which we want to look after as well as the historical and artistical witnesses created through centuries. |
