The ancient land of freedom

Idyllically set on the top of Mount Titano, which overlooks the whole Riviera Romagnola, San Marino is the oldest republic in the world. Its three majestic towers dominate the underlying territory and boast breathtaking views over both the sea, from Ravenna up to Venice, and the mountains.

Mount Titano is topped by three impressive fortifications, Cesta, Guaita and Montale, the former two ones being open to the general public. Since July 2010, San Marino has hosted an important jazz festival. The special guest stars of the last edition were Hornette Coleman and the Yellow Jackets.

Since 2009, it has hosted the popular “Alba sul monte” food and wine festival, which is characterized by amazing shows and concerts and fantastic gastronomic events.
